20th Century Fox Theme Park

Genting New Theme Park 2018

The 20th Century Fox Theme Park at Genting Malaysia will be the first of its kind globally and will undergo renovations from 1st September 2013 till late 2015, 2018 or 2019.

In this agreement between 20th Century Fox and Genting Malaysia Berhad, the current Genting Theme Park will be closed from the said date for the massive renovations that will take almost two four to five years.

As Malaysia is seeing a massive influx of theme parks in the coming years, it was the right strategy for the Genting Group to up their game in this entertainment field by building the world's first 20th Century Fox Theme Park in Malaysia.

According to Resorts World Genting, Update Jan 2019: The Genting 20th Century Fox Theme Park has been cancelled.
Update March 2021: The new name is Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park and opening in Q2 or Q3 of 2021.

20th Century Fox Theme Park

In just two years, at least 4 new theme parks have opened in Malaysia, with more on the way. Genting's joint venture with 20th Century Fox is a winning formula where a lack of international attractions is found in Malaysia.

The current Genting Theme Park is closed for renovations, and there is currently a lot of hype that has been planned for the opening of the all-new 20th Century Fox Theme Park here in Malaysia.

What is the 20th Century Fox Theme Park?

According to plans, the theme park's investment was part of an RM3 Billion Resort World Genting refurbishment program, which includes the construction of an additional 1,300 hotel rooms adjoining the First World Hotel.

Some of the rides and attractions will also be based on movies like Rio, Ice Age, Life of Pi, Alien vs Predator and Night At The Museum.

A unique Dream Parade featuring a one-of-a-kind animatronics parade based on all characters and titles represented at the theme park will also be one of the highlights when opened. Not forgetting the many retail merchandises and themed food and beverage outlets here.

The 20th Century Fox theme park will be built on a 10 hectare (100,000 square meters) space and will feature 25 rides and attractions that include thrill rides, water rides, dark rides for children and adults.

Ticket prices have yet to be announced, but it will probably be in 2015, 2018 or 2019, and prices will be relatively competitive with other theme parks here in Malaysia.

In April 2018, the world's first Fox World Studio Store opened in Malaysia and at SkyAvenue Genting, ahead of the new theme park.
