Ngah Ibrahim's Fort

A visit to Ngah Ibrahim's Fort in Matang, Perak, will take you back over a hundred years of Taiping's historical past.

This colonial home holds a piece of exciting historical news about Taiping and Perak and is worth a visit for anyone wanting to learn more.

Ngah Ibrahim's Fort

This fort was once a simple home that was built back in 1858, according to historical records. Over the last century, this Taiping heritage building was used as a court, college and even a school before it was turned into a Malaysian heritage building.

Ngah Ibrahim's House Museum
The home is seen from outside the lawn area.

The compound looks like a typical old British colonial home with a huge garden and the house standing in the middle. Originally built as the home of Mr Ngah Ibrahim, and due to a political murder of J.W.W Birch, Ngah Ibrahim absconded to the Seychelles.

Ngah Ibrahim passed away in Singapore, and his body was initially buried there before his remains were brought back to his home and reburied here.

For more information, I recommend you visit this place to see, learn and understand what went down here. If I write everything here, there is no point in visiting this place, right?
