Legend Resort Cherating Review

Cherating Beach Legend Resort

The Legend Resort Cherating in Pahang is one of the pioneer beach resorts here for the last 20 over years and is a household name for most local Malaysians.

Cherating beach was once a very popular tourist and backpacker destination in Malaysia back in the '90s but now remains as a local holiday destination.

Since the boom of budget airlines took Malaysians (and other countries) by storm, Cherating has once again become a must-visit destination, and here is my review of the Legend Resort Cherating.

After many years, I was quite excited to go on a re-visit trip as it has been years since I last stayed here - 8 years to be exact. So this is what I encountered on my recent trip to Legend Resort Cherating, Pahang.

The Legend Resort is located along the main road of Cherating and is quite easy to spot and signs are quite huge here. Having their own private beach, the resorts also offer guests an amazing 15 acres of private leisure.

There are a total of 129 rooms at the resort with sea and garden views while there are three swimming pools to choose from.

General facilities include a gym, restaurants, bars, tennis courts and endless beach fun here. The resort also boasts of the term Bleisure - a marriage of Business and Leisure for the MICE market where there offer multiple function rooms, indoor and outdoor.

One of the unique 'Bleisure' features is having your business meeting at the beach where the waves break, which is kind of unique for the younger business travellers.

Themed functions are also a speciality here where our group was treated to a 'Pirate Night Themed Function' held outdoors at the Villa Drive overlooking the South China Sea.

Themed functions also cater to 1000 guests for seated dinner functions up to 2000 cocktail-style functions.

As for activities outside the resort, there are ATV's for rental where you go with a professional guide through the beach and into the rainforest.

They offer tours that last about one hour to one and a half hours. Other activities include kayaking and general beach and sea fun.

The room that I stayed at was the newly refurbished Deluxe Room which had a sea-facing view, which is quite pleasing to the eye.

They are really spacious compared to the standard room and have put themselves back into the game with the new look and feel. Below, you will find various pictures taken during my trip here.

Where is Legend Resort Cherating?

For the general holiday seeker, the Legend Resort in Cherating is only a two to three-hour drive from Kuala Lumpur via the new East-West Highway which leads you straight into Cherating itself.

From there, you simply drive along the main road until you see the huge signboard on the right side of the road. After that, it is a short drive in before you reach the main guardhouse and then to the main lobby.

Conclusion

As for me, I frequently travel up to Terengganu and Kelantan and usually drive pass Cherating along the old coastal roads.

After having this experience here, I think I may even consider making a stopover the Legend Resort Cherating the next time I travel that road.
