Legend Resort Cherating Revisited

Legend Resort Cherating in Pahang is one of the pioneer beach resorts here for the last 20 over years and Cherating beach was once a very popular tourist and backpacker destination in Malaysia back then. Since the boom of budget airlines took Malaysians (and other countries) by storm, Cherating has since been a must-visit destination.

However, this time around with the clever work of the Legend Resort Cherating and Santai Magazine, a familiarization trip was arranged to highlight some of the tourism destinations and also to see the newly revamped wing of the resort. Honestly, I was really excited to go on this trip as it has been years since I last stayed here - 8 years to be exact. So this is what I encountered on my recent trip to Cherating, Pahang.

The Legend Resort is located along the main road of Cherating and is quite easy to spot and signs are quite huge here. Having their own private beach, the resorts also offers guests an amazing15 acres of private leisure. There are a total of 129 rooms at the resort with sea and garden views while there is three swimming pools to choose from.

General facilities include a gym, restaurants, bar, tennis courts and endless beach fun here. The resort also boasts of the term Bleisure - a marriage of Business and Leisure for the MICE market where there offer multiple function rooms, indoor and outdoor. One of the unique 'Bleisure' features is having your business meeting at the beach where the waves break.

Themed functions are also a specialty here where our group was treated to a 'Pirate Night Themed Function' held outdoors at the Villa Drive overlooking the South China Sea.Themed functions also cater from 1000 guests for seated dinner functions up to 2000 cocktail-style functions.

As for activities outside the resort, there are ATV's for rental where you go with a professional guide through the beach and into the rainforest. They offer tours that last about one hour to one and a half hours. Other activities include kayaking and general beach and sea fun.

The room that I stayed at was the newly refurbished Deluxe Room which had a sea facing view. They are really spacious compared to the standard room and have put themselves back into the game with the new look and feel.

Below, you will find various pictures taken during my trip here.

For the general holiday seeker, the Legend Resort in Cherating is only a three hour drive from Kuala Lumpur via the new East-West Highway which leads you straight into Cherating itself. From there, you simply drive along the main road until you see the huge signboard on the right side of the road. After that, it is a short drive in before you reach the main guard house and then to the main lobby.

Currently, the resort is running some promotions for stays there which range from 3D/2N at RM390++ for 2 Adults and 2 Children or 2D/1N at RM270++ for 2 Adults. These promotions are valid until December 2014. Please visit the website for more information or call the Kuala Lumpur Sales Office at +6 03 2697 8888

As for me, I frequently travel up to Terengganu and Kelantan and usually drive pass Cherating, however after this experience here, I think I may even consider making a stop over the Legend Resort Cherating.
