Tahun Melawat Selangor 2025

The Selangor government has ambitious plans to boost tourism in the state. In line with Visit Selangor Year 2025, the target is to attract seven billion local and international tourists by the year 2025.

Datuk Ng Suee Lim, the chairman of the State Local Government and Tourism Committee, highlighted that this target is based on the significant contribution of the tourism industry to Selangor's gross domestic product (GDP), which stood at 26.5% in 2022.

He also mentioned the state's recent success in tourism, with 6.54 million tourists visiting Selangor in 2023, surpassing the target of five million.

To achieve the ambitious goal for 2025, the government is intensifying efforts to promote ecotourism, particularly in the northern and southern parts of the state. These areas offer attractive tourist packages and showcase Selangor's natural wonders and cultural heritage.

The promotion campaigns "Nak Bercuti? Pusing Selangor Dulu!" for domestic tourists and "Splendid Selangor, Take Me Anywhere!" for international tourists aim to attract visitors by highlighting the state's accessibility and diverse attractions.

Selangor's strategic location, with major airports such as Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 and 2 and Subang Airport, makes it an ideal starting point for travellers exploring Malaysia. The government aims to encourage tourists to explore Selangor first before venturing into other states.

In addition to promotional campaigns, the government plans to organize a Selangor Fair to showcase the state's unique features and offer attractive holiday packages to the public. This initiative aims to emulate the success of events like the Matta Fair, focusing specifically on promoting tourism within Selangor.

Overall, the Selangor government's efforts to boost tourism through ecotourism promotion and strategic marketing campaigns demonstrate its commitment to showcasing the state's natural and cultural attractions to domestic and international visitors.
