What is LaLaport Kuala Lumpur? A confusing yet exciting name, but eventually, this will be one of the new shopping malls in KL by 2021.
LaLaport Kuala Lumpur is a brand under the people who brought you the Mitsui Outlet Park in Sepang, under the Mitsui Fudosan Company from Japan.
LaLaport Kuala Lumpur
LaLaport KL will be a retail and shopping mall in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur or branded as the Lalaport BBCC.
Construction of this project will commence in 2017 and be ready by 2021 and will be the first LaLaport in Southeast Asia.

The LaLaport mall will also have direct access to the LRT and KL Monorail stations and access via a pedestrian deck to the MRT station.
The mall will comprise an extensive selection of 300 stores offering everything from high-end brands to daily life essentials, proposing a new style of living to the local community.
This project involves a shopping and retail mall, residences, a hotel, entertainment complex, transport hub, outdoor shopping street and offices.
And if you thought that Kuala Lumpur did not need any more shopping malls, well, this is just one of the many massive projects that will be popping up in the next few years.
For tourists visiting Malaysia, you should know that Malaysia has always aimed to be one of the destinations for shopping tourism in Southeast Asia. This is mainly to be on par with neighbours of Singapore and Thailand.

Over the last decade, many new shopping malls in Kuala Lumpur have opened up. Some massive ones, while others are speciality malls, are located in the Golden Triangle of KL. They are spread out throughout the greater Kuala Lumpur region.
There has also been a surge in shopping malls in Petaling Jaya, the satellite city just out of Kuala Lumpur, with some vast malls being built.
This has created some kind of mall culture among the Malaysians and also an excellent experience for local and foreign tourists visiting here.

Conclusion
The mainstream media officially covered the news, and an official groundbreaking ceremony was conducted in 2017. There is no other solid information available. The name LALaport Kuala Lumpur is also tentative.
The current name could be changed, but it is currently named LaLaport Kuala Lumpur until more information is available.
