Malaysia International Gourmet Festival MIGF


The much-awaited Malaysia International Gourmet Festival MIGF 2016 will take place from 1-31 October at selected places throughout Malaysia.

Branded as the largest food festival in Malaysia, this event which is in its 16th year will showcase the many local and international restaurants and chefs from around the country. 

As Malaysia has always been a melting pot for food and culture, this has attracted many visitors here to sample and explore our unique cuisine ranging from street food and all the way to fusion and fine dining.

One thing that most Malaysians will tell you is that food can be found at any time of the day in Malaysia and from all walks of life, therefore making Malaysia one of the premier food destinations in the world.

With so much to experience, it was when the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival was established back in 2006 having to go through several names since September 2001 when the inaugural KL Gourmet Festival (KLGF) made its debut with 13 restaurants participating.  

Today, when you visit the MIGF 2016, you will be welcomed with a myriad of cuisines which include Malaysian, Western Classic, Japanese, Cantonese, Mixed International, Thai & Chinese, Western Continental, French, Latin American, Sri Lankan, Thai, Modern French, and Contemporary Italian.

Taste MIGF 2016

Before the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival MIGF 2016, a special festival preview called Taste MIGF 2016 is held for invited guests, food lovers, foodies and the general public to offer a taste of what is to come during the main food festival.

Taste MIGF will also be held at the Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on the 24th  and 25th September 2016 and will be the special highlight before the month-long food event.

Over the years, MIGF has switched its focus to international marketing to attract high-yield tourists, business travellers and even MICE delegates.

International recognition was also achieved in 2007 when MIGF was selected as one of the top 50 events for Visit Malaysia Year and won the coveted Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Gold Award for Marketing.

In 2009, MIGF was made a cornerstone of the Malaysian Ministry of Tourism and Culture's ‘Fabulous Food 1 Malaysia’ campaign and to date, the event is being supported by many diversions of the Tourism Ministry.
