AirAsia X Flights to Mauritius was launched on the 25th May 2016 where the award-winning long haul budget carrier will start flying there on 4th October 2016.

This comes after recently announcing the Tehran, Iran flights a couple of weeks back, the airline surprised everyone with the news of this beautiful Indian Ocean island which is one of the popular paradise islands to visit.

Update 16 Feb 2017 - AirAsia X Stops Mauritius Flights. Mainstream news has announced that AirAsia X will stop the successful KL-Mauritius-KL Flights effective 24 March 2017 due to complicated matters.

Air Asia X Flights to Mauritius 

Flights to Mauritius are direct via Kuala Lumpur and will take seven hours, where the most important factor is the arrival and departure times which have been perfectly planned for travelers to get the most of their vacation.

The arrival time is around lunch time in Mauritius while the departure times are past midnight and you arrive back in Malaysia during lunch time, therefore trawlers can plan an easy and quick vacation without having to lose precious travel time.

AirAsia X Mauritius flights will also be operated on the Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 377 seats, inclusive of 12 award-winning Premium Flatbeds, This also marks the AirAsia X Group’s 22nd destination throughout its route network. 

The press conference held in Kuala Lumpur was officially launched by His Excellency Issop Patel, High Commissioner of Mauritius for Malaysia, accompanied by Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X and Benyamin Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia X Berhad.

As for flight ticket prices to Mauritius, introductory all-in-fares from as low as RM299++ one-way on standard seats and from RM999++ one-way for the Premium Flatbeds were also launched during the press conference and  these promotional fares are available for booking from 26 May to 5 June 2016.  
Arik De, Head of Commercial for AirAsia X Berhad added that, “Mauritius is the perfect stepping stone for those Malaysians who wanted to go beyond and explore the beauty of Africa – from beautiful Cape Town to the exotic lands of Namibia, Madagascar and Botswana.”
