Adrenaline junkies will travel to lengths to experience some of these activities that are growing in popularity, especially here in Southeast Asia.

Some even call this sport Air Trekking, but most people call this outdoor activity zipline or flying fox in Malaysia. Please note that this article was written in 2016. Therefore, some zipline places may have closed after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The places that offer this Eco activity usually bundle the package with other activities like abseiling, wall climbing or high rope walking and, most of the time, sold by travel agents in the respective states.

Malaysia's most talked-about zip line, the Coral Flyer, is also branded as the world's longest zip line that crosses the sea from one island to another.

This unique flying fox is also located 20 minutes from the city of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah and is created by Sabah's top riggers with world-class safety features.

There are plans to add another zip line back to the starting point, but this may only happen in late 2016 or early 2017.

The beauty of the Coral Flyer Zipline in Sabah is that it is only 15 minutes by boat from Kota Kinabalu City and Sapi Island. This place was officially launched in May 2014 as well.

One of Malaysia's pioneer zip line companies is Skytrex, which started in Shah Alam, Selangor and has now branched out to Langkawi and Melaka.

The action of Shah Alam Zip Line is three kilometres inside an 817-hectare forest of Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam.

Skytrex also offers various team-building and special packages for visitors, groups, or companies.

This place opened in November 2015 and is the only place in Melaka where you can do this. Other activities here are paintball, archery, zorbing, rock climbing and kayaking.

The location from Melaka city is about 30 minutes, and many other tourist activities are found around here.

Recently opened, the Langkawi Adventure Park is where you can have a full go at the many activities offered here, including a zipline in the island rainforest.

The Langkawi Zip Line is located very near Telaga Harbour or Perdana Quay. When you reach the end of Jalan Pantai Kok junction, turn left, and you should see the signboard.

Zip Line at Bukit Tinggi - Colmar Tropicale Adventure Park

This zip line is located in Pahang at Bukit Tinggi and is currently the longest in Malaysia, with a distance of 530 meters. It was built in 2010 and is probably the earliest in Malaysia.

For thrill-seekers or outdoor enthusiasts, the Bukit Tinggi Flying Fox is about an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur in the cool highlands.

Other activities include paintball, canopy walk, high rope obstacle course, and rope climbing.

For those coming from KL city, there are daily shuttle transfer services from Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur, to Colmar Tropicale, Berjaya Hills, available at 9.30 am, 12.00 pm, 6.00 pm, and 8.00 pm.

One hour drive from Kota Kinabalu city, and you will be in the district of Kiulu where Zip Borneo, a thrill-seekers paradise with sky-high challenges to suit all abilities, is located.

This Sabah zip line, which crosses over the Kiulu River and lands you straight into the jungle, consists of two zip lines, so once you complete your first flight, you will do the return zip line back to the start.
