For anyone visiting Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, this is one of the highly recommended places to visit if you are here on the weekend. Make sure you come around 7-8am when the market gets into full swing. There are quite a number of local coffee shops and restaurants where you can also have your breakfast, some of them very authentic. There are halal and non-halal food places here too.
After the market visit, you can then proceed to explore the other areas around here, namely the craft market, fruit market and if you are up for it, the wet market and also fresh fish market which are all situated along the waterfront area.
