Borneo Bird Festival Review 2015

This three-day event sees bird watchers or birders from all over Malaysia, Southeast Asia, greater Asia and some even as far as Europe and America attending.

Apart from bird watching, there are specialized talks and forums conducted at the mini-amphitheater here.

Also branded as a family activity, many locals from around Sabah make their way here to participate at the festival held throughout the weekend. There are many activities for adults and also children too.

For the birdwatcher's, spotting endemic birds here is one of the main highlights and among the endemic birds that birders seek here, the rare Bornean Bristlehead is the prized bird to spot.

This beautiful bird can be seen here at the RDC Canopy Walk or its surroundings, and sometimes found around the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Center area.

The birding event does not mean hardcore birdwatching activity here. This event provides a positive impact towards introducing nature and eco-related activities, especially towards the children of today.

Getting outdoors and learning about the rainforest, birds and the ecosystem is a good start for the children.

I have also done other articles on Bird Watching in Borneo and also about Bird Watching in Malaysia in general.

Conclusion

For those interested in bird watching, this is probably one of the best events to attend as it is pretty much complete.

The organizers have thought it thoroughly where both adults and children can participate in this family event. Professional and amateur birders are also welcomed to attend the Borneo Bird Festival 2015.
