Cycling Tours in Terengganu

Terengganu Cycling Tours

Cycling tours in Terengganu was one of the things I least expected that I would do on my travels and it's not that I don't like cycling.

I was actually on a scuba diving trip to Perhentian Island and then to Tenggol Island before making my stop at the Tanjong Jara Resort in Dungun.

While I was here, there were a number of interesting activities that I was introduced to and the most interesting one, a cycling tour of the local kampungs here.

Who would have thought that I would give this a try as the last time I got on a bicycle was back in my school days?

Anyway, I would highly recommend this for anyone who loves to cycle and especially with your family.

The tours are daily and led by the Tanjong Jara activities staff which I have to add, are highly trained and knowledgeable. Plus they are 100% locals too so explaining things along the way was easy.

On this cycling trip, there was also another family from the United States which went along and they had two children which were pretty much excited overall.

I could also see that the parents were equally excited when the guide took us through the traditional village homes passing small wooden provision shops and crossing wooden bridges.

One of the interesting stops along the cycling tour was a traditional boat maker home. Here, the guide explained to us how the traditional fishing boats were made by just one man, unfortunately, he was not around but nevertheless, the guide was well informed with information.

Overall, the cycling tour took about three hours with the multiple stops and to put it in simple terms, it wasn't that straining at all. It was more of a casual ride with the multi-speed mountain bikes.

Conclusion

As I have been here twice before, you can also read my other review of Tanjong Jara Resort in Terengganu based on my stay the last time around.

Again, this resort is not just for anyone, it is more for those looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat away from crying kids and noisy holidaymakers.

The location of the resort is perfectly tucked away deep inside a village coastal area hence I took the opportunity to try the Tanjong Jara cycling tours here in Terengganu.
