Airbus A350 XWB Asia Tour

Airbus A350 XWB Asia Tour Malaysia

The much-awaited and talked about the plane, the Airbus A350 XWB will embark on the Asia Tour this November 2014 where it is said to be the last leg of the world tour.

The newest and latest member of the Airbus wide-body family, the A350 is the world’s most modern and efficient aircraft, setting new standards in-flight experience, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be one of the stopovers for the Airbus A350 XWB Asia Tour after visiting major city airports like Seoul (GMP), Tokyo (HND), Hanoi (HAN), Bangkok (BKK) and finally Kuala Lumpur (KUL).

This Asian tour will also run for a period of 11 days, from Monday 17th to Friday 28th November 2014 where KLIA will be the last stop.

The A350 XWB aircraft (MSN5) is one of Airbus’ fleet of five test A350-900 aircraft and one of two with a fully functional cabin that comes with 42 business class and 223 economy class seats.

The A350 flights are also operated by Airbus flight crews. XWB also means Extra Wide Body for those who do not know.

For the record, I have already boarded the initial Airbus A350-900 XWB (MSN3) when they made their first appearance at the Singapore Airshow 2014 in Changi early 2014.

This was also one of the initial test aircraft without any completed interior too. We were invited to board the test aircraft for a tour of the technical specification and to see how Airbus has been testing the new plane.

A presentation of the A350 XWB was also conducted in a specially designed room with a mock-up economy seating layout by one of the Airbus staff when we were there.

You can also read about how the A350 WXB made its Singapore debut at the airshow early in 2014.

In total, 5 test planes went around the world during their world tour and MSN3 was the plane that flew into Singapore while for the last leg, it is the MSN5 that will be here in Malaysia.

This demonstration exercise comes as Airbus is closing in on the first airline delivery, to Qatar Airways, by the end of the year in 2014.

The Airbus A350XWB plane will also land in Malaysia on the 26th of November and will be here for a couple of days before heading back home.

For aviation enthusiasts and plane spotters in Malaysia, this is a chance to catch the Airbus A350 plane landing and taking off here at KLIA Selangor, Malaysia while on the Asia tour.

Conclusion

Since I will be there, I will also feature photos after the event here in Malaysia Asia. I cannot wait to see how the seating configuration will be laid out and also am very curious about how extra wide the fuselage will be once fitted with the seating.

Overall, I am glad that Airbus decided on having the Airbus A350 XWB Asia Tour and here in Malaysia too.
