Here are some Batu Caves photos I took over the last few years, showing what it was like before the recent upgrading and renovations work that was done in August 2018.
The photos of Batu Caves are all random and taken with my DSLR or my smartphone, hence you can see the difference in them. Just so you know, I am just a general travel photographer from Malaysia, so you will not be seeing technical jargon about the photos.

Batu Caves is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Klang Valley or Kuala Lumpur. But you should know that Batu Caves is actually located in the state of Selangor.
The place is best visited in the mornings for photography as the weather is best during this time. Once after lunch, it tends to get really hot and humid, and chances of rain too.
Where Is Batu Caves?
If you look at the map below, you can see that it takes a 35-minute train journey to Batu Caves from KL Sentral. There are direct trains with the KTM Commuter train service.
The best way to get here is to take a Grab Car as it will only take you around 15 to 20-minutes and is hassle-free, and there is plenty of these ride-hailing services in Kuala Lumpur.

To be very honest, I find that technology has got better year after year, and nowadays, I just use my smartphone to take photos. My last visit was in April 2019 to capture more Batu Cave photos with my smartphone too.
