Putrajaya International Reggae Festival

Putrajaya Reggae Festival 2014

Reggae fans take note! The 1st Putrajaya International Reggae Festival 2014 is going to take place at Precinct 4 from 6-7 September 2014. Sorry, the event was cancelled, and it is no surprise.

Of all things, an international reggae festival here in Malaysia, and in Putrajaya! An incredible line up has also been confirmed for this festival.

The artist includes Rita Marley and Malaysia's own Dr Sam among the 18 other bands and artist who perform here over the two-day festival. So, time to get those reggae colours out from your closet for this!

This event also promises a fantastic carnival mood as there are a number of unconfirmed fringe events taking place throughout the two days.

Some of them mentioned are a Reggae Scooter Contest and possible some other contest to win a car and so on.

There will be lots of food, a bazaar and even merchandise being sold there too. A campsite is also available where visitors can bring their own tents and camp out at the festival.

As much as I know now, a lot of things are still in the pipeline and awaiting confirmation, but alas, the first Malaysian reggae festival seems like something that is going to connect people with music.

There is also a very strong emphasis on the 'No Drugs' campaign here. It will be well enforced by what we know.

Until further confirmation, we will continue to update the information obtained from the organaisers. Stay tuned and be ready for the first ever reggae festival in Malaysia.

Final Thoughts on the Putrajaya International Reggae Festival

For those planning to head here, please book your accommodation in advance as there are a number of hotels and even budget hotels located around.

Do your research in advance. Driving from KL will take you about 40 minutes. There are limited bus services from KL too. Taxis are quite pricey for those on a budget.

Again, this event is apparently confirmed by the organizer but an official press release announcement is still awaited by us for the first Putrajaya International Reggae Festival 2014.
