Matta Fair March 2014 is going on from 14 - 16 March at the PWTC or Putra World Trade Center here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For this year, over 400 exhibitors will be taking part in Malaysia's largest travel fair here in KL.

One of the main highlights is the 200 odd people who will be assisting visitors and they can be found in the travel fair wearing 'May I Help You' t-shirts.

Review of March Matta Fair

The Matta Fair will also see more than 100,000 people over the three days while a sales turnover of RM150 million is expected this year.

A total of 1,058 booths have been allocated in an area of 24,000 square meters at the Putra World Trade Center for the Matta Fair.

Exhibitors will be providing various special deals ranging from travel and tour packages, hotel accommodations, themed attractions while there are also many great deals from various airlines participating here. 

Matta Fair 2014 Contest

This year, for the Matta Fair March 2014, there will be three contests for the visitors;

1. 'Buyers Contest' for those who purchased RM500 worth of packages during the fair, offering a grand prize of two business class return air tickets to London, courtesy of SIA
2. 'Visit Malaysia Year (VMY) 2014 Contest' is open for those who spend a minimum of RM200 on domestic packages 
3. 'Visitors Hourly Contest' which will be giving out up to eight prizes per hour for lucky visitors, starting from 11am to 7pm

Aviation Showcase

For aviation fans, SIA will showcase their new generation cabin product for the first time in Malaysia during the Matta Fair, which include the new seats and KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system.

The public would have the opportunity to test out the new seats on display for the Singapore Airline’s economy and business class cabins.

It is also known that SIA had invested more than USD150 million (RM491.2 million) to install the new products on its latest B777-300ER aircraft.

While there are numerous promotions available here, there are quite a number of new generation Muslim Packages to popular places like Korea, China and Japan.

Other popular packages at Matta Fair are the couples packages or honeymoon packages that offer excellent savings. 

Other recommended tours are the Matta Fair packages to Sabah where Sabah Tourism who are regulars at every Matta Fair always bring about 20 tour operators to promote the various places of Sabah namely Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan and Tawau on the west coast of Sabah. 

Sarawak Tourism is also another place to explore as if you are into nature, there are quite a few specialized tour agents who offer very interesting nature packages to Sarawak.

The public can also purchase their entry tickets to the fair, which is RM4 per person, via online at the Matta Fair website.

As usual, visitors are advised to come early to avoid the pack-jammed weekends and it is highly recommended that visitors take public transport to the Matta Fair in March.
