Country Music Festival Miri, Sarawak

The Miri Country Music Festival is the first ever country music festival held here in the city of Miri, Sarawak and started in 2014.

Musicians, organisers, media and invited guest were treated to a sunset cocktail at the Parkcity Everly Hotel here in Miri where every department got to mingle and meet each other before the big show which was to be launched on 15th February.

Bands from the USA, Brunei, Singapore, Malaysia and also Sarawak were seen mingling and getting to know each other during the cocktail session.

Soon after, a preview performance was conducted by two bands at the Ruai Lounge of the Everly hotel.

Opening the preview was Bruneian band Eia and the Superband followed by popular Country and Blues band from Kuala Lumpur, The Corn Cake Kings.

The Miri Country Music Festival 2014 will feature Eia and The Superband (Brunei), D’Renegade Band from Kota Kinabalu, The Corn Cake Kings (Kuala Lumpur), Wandering Mustangs (Singapore), Mel & Joe (Singapore), Hi Breed (Kuching), Country Road Band (Miri) and the Johnny Rodger Band (Nashville, USA).

The event is also endorsed by Miri City Council while the festival is supported by Parkcity Everly Hotel Miri which is the main sponsor and official hotel, Curtin University, Sarawak and Planet Borneo Tours and Travel Services Sdn Bhd, the US Embassy and Sarawak Tourism Board.

Various interesting programs had been drawn up for the festival and this includes the country music concert, games and competition for adults and children, pony ride, line-dance and drum workshops and food stalls. The day’s program will start from 2.00pm.

Tickets to the music fest are priced at RM80 for adults and RM40 for children ages between three to 12 years old. The ticket is inclusive of one drink for adults and one soft drink or ice cream for children.
