Puteri Harbour

Johor Puteri Harbour

Puteri Harbour is the latest theme park to open here in Nusajaya, Johor, Malaysia. This indoor concept theme park opened in late October 2012 and now has three main attractions in it.

Well known for the Hello Kitty Town, there is also the Little Big Club and Lat's Place. The beauty of Puteri Harbour is that it is located about 20 minutes from the city and 10 minutes from Legoland Malaysia.

So those going for a family day trip to Johor, you can easily kill two birds with one stone. Actually, make that three birds as there is also the Johor Premium Outlets which is about 20 minutes from here.

My last visit to Puteri Harbor was in late November 2012 just before the opening of Lat's Place. After visiting Legoland, I made my way here which was a simple 10 minutes drive with signboards along the way.

When you arrive at the guardhouse, there will be directions to the complex. Parking lots are available and a short walk is needed.

The parking is outdoor so if it looks like it is going to rain, please carry your umbrellas, or even if the weather is too hot.

Hello Kitty Town - As you arrive at the main entrance, you will need to go into the building before arriving at the Hello Kitty Town entrance. Ticket counters are here while you will see a huge souvenir shop and a cafe there.

Here, you simply proceed to get your tickets and then make your way in, and Hello Kitty Town is located on the first floor.

*Update Nov 2019 - Hello Kitty Town will close by the end of 2019.

Little Big Club - When you head upstairs, you will find the Little Big Club on the second floor.

Thomas and Friends Park - This is found on the third floor of the building, and you access this place from the Little Big Club.

Lat's Place - As for Lat's Place, it is a Themed Restaurant revolving around famous Malaysian cartoon artist, Datuk Lat's Kampung Boy lifestyle.

So if you are planning of visiting both places, you are better off buying the two park pass here. Not to worry as everything is indoor therefore moving around is easy.

Escalators and lifts are provided in the building.  As for the estimated time needed here, I would give it at least 3 to 4 hours.

Hello Kitty Town Johor

The first stop is Hello Kitty Town, (lots of pictures in this link) on the first floor and this will be the most crowded as almost everyone will want to come here. As you enter through the heart-shaped entrance, your ticket is required for admittance.

The entire place is one floor and stretches all the way in. There are a couple of rides here but the main attraction is the Hello Kitty Home, workshop, teacup ride and Hello Kitty Black Wonder, a game like attraction.

They have a unique cafe serving food as well and during certain times, Kitty and Daniel make an appearance for a photo opportunity.

When you are done here, you head up one more floor to the Little Big Club and Thomas & Friends Park. Both are on the third and fourth floors. Tickets are required again at the entrance.

At the Little Big Club, you will find cartoon attractions from Barney, Bob the Builder, Angelina Ballerina, and Pingu all on one floor.

From inside, there is an escalator that takes you up to the fourth floor where Thomas & Friends Park will be.

All the rides are located here where kids get to ride Bertie the Bus for a journey they will always remember of even fly on Harold the Helicopter.

Kids can also join Toby on his favourite Windmill Ride, visit Sir Topham Hatt's play station and join in the fun at the Thomas & Friends Imagination Station.

There is also care with a large sitting area. Toilets are air-conditioned and clean.

As for Lat's Place, I did not manage to visit this restaurant. All I know is that it is a themed restaurant following the Kampung Boy, a classic Malaysian lifestyle in the local villages.

JPO Nusajaya
Johor Premium Outlets at Nusajaya

If you are thinking of how you want to tackle all the attractions in Nusajaya, Johor, here is my suggestion. You will need to spend at least one night around here to do so.

First, visit Puteri Harbour when you arrive there as the place opens at 10.00 am. You only need about 4-6 hours here.

Johor Premium Outlets (JPO)

When you are done there, you can just move over to Johor Premium Outlets for some serious shopping and dinner there. After that, just check-in at any of the hotels and get some good rest.

The next morning after you check out, head over to Legoland Johor as the park opens at 10.00 am. You can easily spend about 4-8 hours here. When you are satisfied, head on back. For the shoppers, you have one more chance to visit JPO before going back.

How To Go To Puteri Harbour?

The drive from Kuala Lumpur to Puteri Harbour in Johor will take you about 4 to 5 hours. From Singapore, it will only be about 20 to 40 minutes from both causeways.

Usually, locals will self drive here as it is the best way to go to Puteri Harbour. But for foreigners, it is recommended that you either rent a car and self-drive, or take one of those tour packages to get here.

Hotels around Legoland are mostly found in the Danga Bay area. Prices are anywhere from RM80 to RM300 depending on the type. I stayed at Tune Hotels Danga Bay and that was about RM120 per room.

Conclusion

Food is found at the parks and also at various restaurants or fast food joints around Danga Bay or JB area. You can also read about my Things to do in Johor article. There you have it, the list of attractions at Puteri Harbour for anyone planning to visit this part of Malaysia.
