AirAsia X flights to Shanghai will commence on Feb 19th, 2013 which was announced by CEO Azran Osman-Rani on the 22nd November 2012 here in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

There will also be six weekly flights from Kuala Lumpur to Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, China. 

Shanghai Flight Tickets from as low as RM199 for a one-way journey on the economy class and from RM799 on premium flatbeds are available online from today 23 Nov till 25th Nov of 2013.

The new KL-Shanghai flight, which commences on Feb 19, is the latest addition to the existing 11 direct outbound routes operated by AirAsia X from KL to mainland China. 

AirAsia X Chief Executive Officer Azran Osman-Rani said the company foresees a strong demand for the route as Shanghai has a population of 23 million. 

Currently, AirAsia X flies to Hangzhou which is about an hour plus away from Shanghai.

The KL-Shanghai route will be operated on the Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a configuration of 12 premium flatbed seats and 365 economy class seats. 

AirAsia X also plans to increase its frequency between KLIA-LCCT and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, to daily services from May 1, 2013.
