According the the latest numbers, a total of 13.5 million domestic tourist visited Selangor from the year 2007 to April 2011.

The bulk of visitors came mainly from Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Penang and Selangor for sight seeing, food, shopping, Eco-Tourism, adventure and many other related reasons.

For 2015, the state ran the Visit Selangor Year 2015 or VSY2015 where the target number of tourism arrivals is set at 7 million visitors.

A number of events and festivals are also planned all over the state in conjunction with Malaysia Year of Festivals 2015 too.
