Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore

Singapore Louis Vuitton

The Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore is the first sophisticated upmarket shopping concept in the world. This island store located at Marina Bay Sands Shoppes was opened on 18th September 2011.

This is also the 5th store in Singapore and the 12th LV Maison Store. It is also the first Maison Store in Southeast Asia.

The space-age looking island store with glass from the floor to the ceilings will feature multiple levels, a mini jetty and a tunnel that leads to Marina Bay Sands Shoppes.

The uniqueness of the structure will not only be a popular photography spot for locals and tourist but it will definitely be the talk of the town.

Louis Vuitton Island Maison Store grand opening pictures were published at PlushAsia. Superstars from around the world including Cate Blanchett and Chow Yun Fatt were invited for this special occasion on the 18th of September 2011 at the MBS.

The newly unveiled men’s permanent leather line called “Damier Infini” will also be launched in September here at the LV Island Store in conjunction with the opening.

Shoppers will be pleased to know that there will be a ladies and men's section for accessories, shoes, and bags.

A mezzanine level will celebrate the romance of travel by dedicating an area to travel luggage and accessories which will be the first Travel Room in the Asia Pacific.

A spiral staircase on the same floor will lead visitors up to a magnified space that will display timepieces, fine jewelry, and leather handbags. A private lounge for intimate presentations as well as an outdoor loggia that is designed to imitate the deck of a luxury yacht is catered to the upmarket clientele.

At the tunnel which goes underground into the MBS Shoppes, there will be a gallery and a bookstore featuring Louis Vuitton's beloved travel tomes and hardcover coffee table books.

In total, there will be four separate stores here which are;
  • At the MBS Shoppes via basement 1 you will find the store entrance there while featured are the leather good section, LV timepieces and LV jewelry.
  • The next level is the basement 2 where the tunnel connects the store to MBS Shoppes. Here you will find the main bookstore and art gallery.
  • The main Glass Pavilion would be on the first level featuring men's and women's clothing, accessories and bags. An outdoor jetty where guests can arrive via boats sits next to the main entrance.
  • Another entrance to the north of the Glass Crystal Pavilion leads to the VIP area where you can collect custom orders while the LV Travel Section is available.

    The award-winning architect behind this is Moshe Safdie who painstakingly conceptualized this since the opening of Marina Bay Sands while the interior of the glass pavilion was designed by Peter Marino which plays with nautical-inspired interiors.

    For the LV fans, this is one of the must-visit stores as it is totally one-of-a-kind in the world. The store is also located in between the award-winning unique ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands and the ultra-chic Pangaea club, the legendary ultra lounge which is also on a floating island.

    To celebrate the opening of the first-ever Island Maison, Louis Vuitton Digital is happy to announce the live Facebook broadcast of the red carpet event at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, hosted by Denise Keller on September 17, 2011.

    Those heading here after the opening can access the Louis Vuitton Island in three ways;
    • Walking in by the main outdoor bridge
    • By boat disembarking on a mini jetty
    • From the mall via tunnel and ascending travelator which will lead them to the center of the pavilion

    Conclusion
    For some added humor, I took some interesting photos while traveling in China showing how some people hang-dry their Louis Vuitton Bags in Shanghai which will crack you up laughing. I am not kidding, just take a look and see.

    I also visited the famous Champ Elysees shopping street in 2011 and saw the famous Louis Vuitton Handbag Wheel in Paris. This is where tourists will make a pit stop to buy some of the limited edition designer bags.

    On my next trip here, I would most definitely visit the Louis Vuitton Island Maison in Singapore to see what is new or what has changed.
