Halong Bay in Vietnam is my Picture of the Week. This is one of the must-visit places on earth where most round the world travelers would make a stop here. The most prominent thing to do here at Ha Long Bay is to take the overnight junk boat cruise. I was fortunate enough to try both, day cruise and the overnight cruise here back in 2010. While there are many types of Halong Bay Cruise to choose from, you have the option of getting the budget cruise (US$40) right up to luxury cruises (US$200+) fit for a king.
Apart from the overnight cruise here, you will also have the opportunity to explore some of the amazing places here like the Thien Cung Cave or the many fish farms around this Unesco World Heritage Site. You should also be prepared to bring some food and drinks while you go for this trip as prices on board the junks are pretty high. Also take note about the main jetty which is the Bai Chay Wharf in Halong Bay, Vietnam.

Totally agree that Halong Bay is a must-visit place! I did an overnight cruise on the emeraude last month and it was spectacular. Any other places you recommend in Southeast Asia?

Halong Bay is a must see and must experience (over-night). Include Cat Ba island if time permits. Nov to Mar best time to visit due to cooler weather. Go with a group and take the whole junk,you get your own private cruise on Halong Bay. Been there 4 times and thoroughly enjoyed it.
