Malaysia International Dive Expo MIDE Review

Malaysia MIDE Expo
The Malaysia International Dive Expo or MIDE will be on it's 6th year and held at the Putra World Trade Center (PWTC) Hall 3 in Kuala Lumpur from 1st to 3rd July, 2011.

As last year's event drew lots of interested people and divers from around the region, this year promises of an even better exhibition.

A stunning fact that there are also 120,000 certified divers in Malaysia from ages 8 till 40+ while the number is growing rapidly.

Malaysia International Dive Expo Review

As I visited last years MIDE 2010, I met a lot of diver friends there and if you are in the circle, you are bound to bump into instructors and die hard enthusiast at the expo.

I noticed quite a number of well known brands being sold with promotions while many dive centers and resorts had booths promoting diving packages of all sorts.

International diving destinations were also seen being promoted in packages and also live on board boats. There will also be about 200 booths participating at this years Malaysia International Dive Expo 2011.

MIDE Malaysia
The crowd attending the dive expo
I was initially quite surprised with the turnout of the crowd as there was a record attendance of over 10,000 visitors throughout the dive expo here in KL.

Many professionals, students and even families were seen exploring the place. Diving shows no boundaries to age or race and you could see all walks of life here.

While many of the diving companies, agents and distributors were seen selling equipment, some even had sales and promotions on dive gear.

If you have been waiting to buy that regulator or wetsuit, it would be a good time to do so this July.

Snorkels, fins, wet suits and even dive computers were seen sold at offer prices at some of the booths. A total of 13 countries will be participating this year too.

MIDE Kids Scuba

There was even a Kids Scuba booth for children interested in diving. Classes and packages offered were a steal at the expo so if you want to introduce your kid to diving, you can come here to find out more information.
