Floating Market in Thailand Picture

Thailand Floating Market Photo

This floating market picture was taken from a bridge at the Khong Hae Floating Market in Hat Yai, Southern Thailand.

I was visiting the Trang-Satun district under Tourism Thailand on a familiarization trip in June 2010 when we made a stop here to experience this unique culture of the Thai people.

I have visited this place several times, and you must try the various Thai food sold by the local boat vendors.

The Khong Hae Floating Market or Klonghae Floating Market is located about 4 kilometres from the town of Hat Yai (หาดใหญ่) in the Tambon Klonghae district and is only open from Friday to Sunday - 4.00 pm till 9.00 pm.

There are also boat trips and tours available, while a general market is just by the river selling various things.

Read my other article about Where to go in Hat Yai. Hoards of tourists and locals are seen here as the Floating Market is one of the main tourist attractions of Hat Yai in Southern Thailand.
