Four Seasons Rhu Bar Langkawi

The Rhu Bar at the Four Seasons Resort in Langkawi is one of those places everyone dreams about for that perfect holiday lounging on a day bed sipping cocktails and watching the sunset over the Andaman Sea.

Located at Tanjung Rhu in Langkawi Island, Malaysia - this is one exclusive resort that not many people get a chance to visit unless you have deep pockets.

The architecture is an amazing mix of Asian, Indian and Arabic, and when you step inside, you will feel as if you are in a different part of the world.

The Bar - Main entrance

The Rhu Bar is located in a stand-alone building at the Four Seasons and is one of the most beautiful lounges I have ever been to. Based on a rich Middle Eastern design and architecture, this place is also known as the 'Arabian Knights' lounge.

The Bar - Outside seating

Sitting around the Rhu Bar will remind you of Aladdin as almost every detail is perfect when looking around. The rich colours, textures and large glowing fire lamps add a beautiful mood, especially in the evenings for romantic couples.

Once the sun goes down here, you will see the place come alive with amazing colours. The Asian fusion chill-out music played will also compliment your evening, therefore a memorable experience if you are having a honeymoon or romantic holiday here.

A huge Mogul hanging swing

The Mogul Hanging Swings are not to be missed as these huge wooden swings complimented with colourful cushions and suspended by steel cables can easily seat four people on them.

One of the highlights of the Mogul swing is experiencing a Langkawi sunset with a cocktail while gently swinging here.

The main swing, which is above the beach sand facing the sea, would be the ultimate spot to enjoy that picture-perfect evening.

Interior of the Rhu Bar

Inside the Rhu Bar, the Middle Eastern ambience gets much stronger with intricately designed wall dividers sectioning off the lounge areas.

There are colourful cushions stacked on top of wicker sofas, and they look perfectly placed for your comfort. Flowering orchids are placed strategically around the bar, which gives the place even more colour and life.

Middle Eastern feel

For afternoon tea, local kueh (Asian snacks) is served with various teas, from imported, local and even herbal teas. You can also opt for the unique meze menu they have.

Some of the desserts available are "Genovese Di Pesca E Polenta Con Gelato Alla Mandorla" – Peach Upside -Down Cake with Almond Ice Cream and "Cannoli Alla Siciliana con Composta Di Ciliege" – Ricotta-Cheese-Filled Sicilian Cannoli with Cherry Compote.

Some of the snacks available would be Pita and Papadom Chips with Hummus and Cucumber Raita and the Lollipop Chicken with Chili Sauce. These snacks and desserts are available from 3 pm to 12 midnight.

Mogul Swings - The best spot to sunset watch

For after-dinner drinks, the bar carries uniquely designed cocktails which are house specials and also old favourites.

They have a selection of lagers for beer lovers and speciality malts for the whiskey drinker. Do try the house speciality called 'Sunset At Rhu' while enjoying the view of the sun going down the Andaman Sea.

The Rhu Bar Wine selection

The wine list here is also awe-inspiring and extensive, with an outstanding collection to suit your taste in red or white and many other wines.

Not forgetting they also have a great selection of Champagnes available—a pool table in one of the sectioned rooms for guest who want to shoot some pool there.

Finally, nothing completes your holiday at the Four Seasons without spending a beautiful evening at the Rhu Bar sipping cocktails or having a bottle of wine and enjoying the sunset.

The perfect honeymoon place, I would call this. To top it off, when you walk into this place, the servers already know your name, and you would be stunned when they greet you by name.

On a side note, the place is pretty quiet and peaceful. You will not see running kids, or local family's taking loudly here as the Four Seasons is not a typical holiday resort.

Prices start from an amazing RM1,850.00 (US$530.00) per couple for the cheapest room, while the Royal Villa goes at RM20,460 (US$5,845), based on the time of writing this.

The beauty about this is that the rates are only for the room or villas. Everything else is charged. For example, breakfast is charged and so on.

Conclusion

If you are visiting the resort, then proceed to the Rhu Bar via the main entrance of the Four Seasons Langkawi.

The reception may ask you where you are going, and you should just double check if they are open for public walk-in. The Four Seasons Rhu Bar in Langkawi is known to be one of the best on the island.
